Google's AI Mode Expansion to India

• Google has officially launched AI Mode globally, first in India via Search Labs.

• AI Mode uses a Gemini 2.5 model and advanced "query fan-out" technology to break down complex questions into multiple sub-queries and reassemble a coherent answer.

• It supports multimodal input: users can ask questions via text, voice, or images through Google Lens.

• It allows for longer, nuanced queries (2–3 times the usual length) and follow-up questions in conversational context.

• Key features in India include text, voice, visual, and structured answers.

• The feature is still experimental and only available in English.

• India is one of Google's biggest markets, with over 870 million users, and a top country for Google Lens adoption.
