Huawei Launches HarmonyOS 6 Developer Beta

• HarmonyOS 6 Developer Beta is now available on flagship Huawei models, including the Mate 70/70 Pro, Mate 60/60 Pro, Mate X5, and newer MatePad Pro tablets.

• Consumer rollout is expected in late 2025, likely alongside the Mate 80 series.

• HarmonyOS Multi-Agent Framework (HMAF) introduces the Harmony Intelligent Agent Framework, providing developers tools to build AI agents that perform real-time, context-aware tasks.

• Enhanced Cross-Device Features include "Touch/ Tap-to-Share" for instant file, screen, or game session transfer between Huawei phones and PCs, multi-user collaboration, smart parking, and fuel payment functionalities.

• Privacy & Security Upgrades include the introduction of Star Shield, a unified security framework for better biometric authentication, permission controls, and protection for banking or sensitive transactions.

• Smarter AI Assistant ("XiaoYi") runs on HMAF with context comprehension and lower latency interactions blur lines between assistant and active collaborator.

• Developers can sign up for the beta via Huawei’s Developer Alliance to start testing AI agents.

• Consumers should expect a global rollout later this year, paving the way for full HarmonyOS 6 experiences at scale.
