MrBeast Launches "Beast Mobile" - A New Contender in the Telecom Arena
In a move set to disrupt the telecommunications industry, viral YouTube sensation MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has officially launched his own mobile phone company, "Beast Mobile." Following a business model popularized by celebrities like Ryan Reynolds with Mint Mobile, Donaldson is entering the market as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), utilizing the robust networks of established carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T.
The launch, which has been the subject of intense speculation after a leaked investor deck from early 2025 hinted at the plans, is a key part of MrBeast's strategy to diversify his business empire beyond content creation. The move into a subscription-based service is seen as a way to create a more predictable revenue stream, especially after his media business reportedly posted losses last year.
Unlike traditional carriers that build and maintain their own cell towers, Beast Mobile will lease network access at wholesale rates, allowing them to offer more competitive and affordable plans. This strategic approach minimizes capital expenditure and allows the company to focus on what MrBeast does best: marketing and engaging his massive, 430+ million-strong fanbase.
"The ultimate objective is to focus on the marketing and sales and outsource everything to a third party," said MVNO consultant and founder of The Besen Group, Alex Besen. "This allows creators to leverage their core strength—their audience—while relying on the expertise of a telecom partner for the technical aspects."
While specific pricing plans have yet to be fully revealed, industry insiders speculate that Beast Mobile will offer plans designed to be highly competitive and attractive to his younger, tech-savvy audience. Leaked documents suggest monthly plans could start as low as around $10 for basic data and talk, with more comprehensive plans priced between $25 and $45, potentially including exclusive perks or content access. These prices are designed to significantly undercut offerings from major carriers, making the service an appealing choice for consumers looking to save money.
The launch of Beast Mobile marks a new chapter for the creator economy, demonstrating how media moguls are leveraging their direct connection with fans to build long-term, sustainable businesses. With his track record of turning bold ideas into wildly successful ventures like his Feastables chocolate brand and the MrBeast Burger ghost kitchen, the question isn't whether fans will sign up, but rather, how many. If even a small fraction of his immense following converts to customers, Beast Mobile could quickly become a formidable player in the US telecom market.
